Minhajy is a Quran learning app. These terms explain what you get, what you pay for (if anything), and what we promise.
Minhajy is published by its independent developer. There is no company behind it yet; once a publishing entity is registered, its name, address and the applicable law will be stated here. Stripe is the merchant of record for every purchase, so the seller for your payment is Stripe.
What is free, forever
The full mushaf (reading and audio listening), the Juz Amma curriculum, the Aqidah and Fiqh courses, the duas, the transliteration and the quizzes are free for everyone, with no ads, and with no requirement to ever pay us anything.
We do not sell your data, and we never show advertising.
What is paid
Live recitation checking (تسميع) — where you recite and the app corrects you word by word — runs on a GPU server and costs us real money every time it is used. It has a free allowance: 15 free sessions in your first 14 days, then 1 free session every week, forever. A free session is one recitation of up to 8 minutes; a paid plan has no per-session time limit.
Beyond that allowance, recitation checking requires a paid plan. Mistake tracking, the review loop and the recitation analytics are part of that same feature, because they only exist as a by-product of recitation sessions.
Your account
You need an account to recite. Please keep it to yourself: an account is for one person.
Automated, scripted or bulk use of the recitation service is not allowed, and a fair-use limit applies to every paid plan so that no single account can consume unbounded server time.
Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe, which acts as the merchant of record. That means Stripe is the seller for the transaction and is responsible for collecting and remitting any applicable taxes. Your receipt and your card statement will show Stripe.
Prices are shown before you pay, and the price you see is the total: any applicable tax is already included in it. Prices may differ by country.
Subscriptions
There are two plans, monthly and yearly. Both renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the settings page, which opens Stripe's billing portal.
When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not charge you again after that.
Refunds
See our refund policy. Refund requests are reviewed case by case, and your statutory consumer rights always apply.
Your recitation audio
When you use recitation checking, your voice is processed so the app can compare what you recited to the text of the Quran. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it with data brokers.
What we do not promise
Recitation checking uses speech recognition. It is a study aid, not a teacher and not an ijazah. It will sometimes mark a correct recitation as wrong, or miss a mistake. Please treat its output as a helpful second opinion, and learn from a qualified teacher.
The service is provided as it is. We do our best to keep it running, but we cannot guarantee that it is always available or always correct.
Changes
If we change these terms or our prices, we will give notice in the app before the change takes effect. A price change never affects a period you have already paid for.
Ending your access
You can stop using Minhajy at any time. We may suspend an account that abuses the service (for example, scripted use of the recitation server), and we will refund any unused paid time if we do.
