The Poets

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
طسٓمٓ
١Taseenmeem
Ta, Seen, Meem
تِلۡكَ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ ٱلۡمُبِينِ
٢Tilka ayatu alkitabi almubeeni
These are the verses of the clear Book
لَعَلَّكَ بَٰخِعٞ نَّفۡسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُواْ مُؤۡمِنِينَ
٣LaAAallaka bakhiAAun nafsaka alla yakoonoo mumineena
Perhaps, [O Muhammad], you would kill yourself with grief that they will not be believers
إِن نَّشَأۡ نُنَزِّلۡ عَلَيۡهِم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ ءَايَةٗ فَظَلَّتۡ أَعۡنَٰقُهُمۡ لَهَا خَٰضِعِينَ
٤In nasha nunazzil AAalayhim mina alssamai ayatan fathallat aAAnaquhum laha khadiAAeena
If We willed, We could send down to them from the sky a sign for which their necks would remain humbled
وَمَا يَأۡتِيهِم مِّن ذِكۡرٖ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ مُحۡدَثٍ إِلَّا كَانُواْ عَنۡهُ مُعۡرِضِينَ
٥Wama yateehim min thikrin mina alrrahmani muhdathin illa kanoo AAanhu muAArideena
And no revelation comes to them anew from the Most Merciful except that they turn away from it
فَقَدۡ كَذَّبُواْ فَسَيَأۡتِيهِمۡ أَنۢبَـٰٓؤُاْ مَا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ
٦Faqad kaththaboo fasayateehim anbao ma kanoo bihi yastahzioona
For they have already denied, but there will come to them the news of that which they used to ridicule
أَوَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ إِلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ كَمۡ أَنۢبَتۡنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوۡجٖ كَرِيمٍ
٧Awalam yaraw ila alardi kam anbatna feeha min kulli zawjin kareemin
Did they not look at the earth - how much We have produced therein from every noble kind
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
٨Inna fee thalika laayatan wama kana aktharuhum mumineena
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
٩Wainna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
وَإِذۡ نَادَىٰ رَبُّكَ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱئۡتِ ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
١٠Waith nada rabbuka moosa ani iti alqawma alththalimeena
And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people
قَوۡمَ فِرۡعَوۡنَۚ أَلَا يَتَّقُونَ
١١Qawma firAAawna ala yattaqoona
The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allah
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّيٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ
١٢Qala rabbi innee akhafu an yukaththibooni
He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me
وَيَضِيقُ صَدۡرِي وَلَا يَنطَلِقُ لِسَانِي فَأَرۡسِلۡ إِلَىٰ هَٰرُونَ
١٣Wayadeequ sadree wala yantaliqu lisanee faarsil ila haroona
And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron
وَلَهُمۡ عَلَيَّ ذَنۢبٞ فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقۡتُلُونِ
١٤Walahum AAalayya thanbun faakhafu an yaqtulooni
And they have upon me a [claim due to] sin, so I fear that they will kill me
قَالَ كَلَّاۖ فَٱذۡهَبَا بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآۖ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّسۡتَمِعُونَ
١٥Qala kalla faithhaba biayatina inna maAAakum mustamiAAoona
[Allah] said, "No. Go both of you with Our signs; indeed, We are with you, listening
فَأۡتِيَا فِرۡعَوۡنَ فَقُولَآ إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
١٦Fatiya firAAawna faqoola inna rasoolu rabbi alAAalameena
Go to Pharaoh and say, 'We are the messengers of the Lord of the worlds
أَنۡ أَرۡسِلۡ مَعَنَا بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَـٰٓءِيلَ
١٧An arsil maAAana banee israeela
[Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel
قَالَ أَلَمۡ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيدٗا وَلَبِثۡتَ فِينَا مِنۡ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ
١٨Qala alam nurabbika feena waleedan walabithta feena min AAumurika sineena
[Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life
وَفَعَلۡتَ فَعۡلَتَكَ ٱلَّتِي فَعَلۡتَ وَأَنتَ مِنَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
١٩WafaAAalta faAAlataka allatee faAAalta waanta mina alkafireena
And [then] you did your deed which you did, and you were of the ungrateful
قَالَ فَعَلۡتُهَآ إِذٗا وَأَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
٢٠Qala faAAaltuha ithan waana mina alddalleena
[Moses] said, "I did it, then, while I was of those astray
فَفَرَرۡتُ مِنكُمۡ لَمَّا خِفۡتُكُمۡ فَوَهَبَ لِي رَبِّي حُكۡمٗا وَجَعَلَنِي مِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
٢١Fafarartu minkum lamma khiftukum fawahaba lee rabbee hukman wajaAAalanee mina almursaleena
So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and prophethood and appointed me [as one] of the messengers
وَتِلۡكَ نِعۡمَةٞ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَيَّ أَنۡ عَبَّدتَّ بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَـٰٓءِيلَ
٢٢Watilka niAAmatun tamunnuha AAalayya an AAabbadta banee israeela
And is this a favor of which you remind me - that you have enslaved the Children of Israel
قَالَ فِرۡعَوۡنُ وَمَا رَبُّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
٢٣Qala firAAawnu wama rabbu alAAalameena
Said Pharaoh, "And what is the Lord of the worlds
قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَآۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ
٢٤Qala rabbu alssamawati waalardi wama baynahuma in kuntum mooqineena
[Moses] said, "The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced
قَالَ لِمَنۡ حَوۡلَهُۥٓ أَلَا تَسۡتَمِعُونَ
٢٥Qala liman hawlahu ala tastamiAAoona
[Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear
قَالَ رَبُّكُمۡ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
٢٦Qala rabbukum warabbu abaikumu alawwaleena
[Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers
قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَكُمُ ٱلَّذِيٓ أُرۡسِلَ إِلَيۡكُمۡ لَمَجۡنُونٞ
٢٧Qala inna rasoolakumu allathee orsila ilaykum lamajnoonun
[Pharaoh] said, "Indeed, your 'messenger' who has been sent to you is mad
قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلۡمَشۡرِقِ وَٱلۡمَغۡرِبِ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَآۖ إِن كُنتُمۡ تَعۡقِلُونَ
٢٨Qala rabbu almashriqi waalmaghribi wama baynahuma in kuntum taAAqiloona
[Moses] said, "Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason
قَالَ لَئِنِ ٱتَّخَذۡتَ إِلَٰهًا غَيۡرِي لَأَجۡعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلۡمَسۡجُونِينَ
٢٩Qala laini ittakhathta ilahan ghayree laajAAalannaka mina almasjooneena
[Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned
قَالَ أَوَلَوۡ جِئۡتُكَ بِشَيۡءٖ مُّبِينٖ
٣٠Qala awalaw jituka bishayin mubeenin
[Moses] said, "Even if I brought you proof manifest
قَالَ فَأۡتِ بِهِۦٓ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
٣١Qala fati bihi in kunta mina alssadiqeena
[Pharaoh] said, "Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful
فَأَلۡقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ ثُعۡبَانٞ مُّبِينٞ
٣٢Faalqa AAasahu faitha hiya thuAAbanun mubeenun
So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest
وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِيَ بَيۡضَآءُ لِلنَّـٰظِرِينَ
٣٣WanazaAAa yadahu faitha hiya baydao lilnnathireena
And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers
قَالَ لِلۡمَلَإِ حَوۡلَهُۥٓ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَسَٰحِرٌ عَلِيمٞ
٣٤Qala lilmalai hawlahu inna hatha lasahirun AAaleemun
[Pharaoh] said to the eminent ones around him, "Indeed, this is a learned magician
يُرِيدُ أَن يُخۡرِجَكُم مِّنۡ أَرۡضِكُم بِسِحۡرِهِۦ فَمَاذَا تَأۡمُرُونَ
٣٥Yureedu an yukhrijakum min ardikum bisihrihi famatha tamuroona
He wants to drive you out of your land by his magic, so what do you advise
قَالُوٓاْ أَرۡجِهۡ وَأَخَاهُ وَٱبۡعَثۡ فِي ٱلۡمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَ
٣٦Qaloo arjih waakhahu waibAAath fee almadaini hashireena
They said, "Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherers
يَأۡتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيمٖ
٣٧Yatooka bikulli sahharin AAaleemin
Who will bring you every learned, skilled magician
فَجُمِعَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَٰتِ يَوۡمٖ مَّعۡلُومٖ
٣٨FajumiAAa alssaharatu limeeqati yawmin maAAloomin
So the magicians were assembled for the appointment of a well-known day
وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلۡ أَنتُم مُّجۡتَمِعُونَ
٣٩Waqeela lilnnasi hal antum mujtamiAAoona
And it was said to the people, "Will you congregate
لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ ٱلسَّحَرَةَ إِن كَانُواْ هُمُ ٱلۡغَٰلِبِينَ
٤٠LaAAallana nattabiAAu alssaharata in kanoo humu alghalibeena
That we might follow the magicians if they are the predominant
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ قَالُواْ لِفِرۡعَوۡنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجۡرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحۡنُ ٱلۡغَٰلِبِينَ
٤١Falamma jaa alssaharatu qaloo lifirAAawna ainna lana laajran in kunna nahnu alghalibeena
And when the magicians arrived, they said to Pharaoh, "Is there indeed for us a reward if we are the predominant
قَالَ نَعَمۡ وَإِنَّكُمۡ إِذٗا لَّمِنَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبِينَ
٤٢Qala naAAam wainnakum ithan lamina almuqarrabeena
He said, "Yes, and indeed, you will then be of those near [to me]
قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰٓ أَلۡقُواْ مَآ أَنتُم مُّلۡقُونَ
٤٣Qala lahum moosa alqoo ma antum mulqoona
Moses said to them, "Throw whatever you will throw
فَأَلۡقَوۡاْ حِبَالَهُمۡ وَعِصِيَّهُمۡ وَقَالُواْ بِعِزَّةِ فِرۡعَوۡنَ إِنَّا لَنَحۡنُ ٱلۡغَٰلِبُونَ
٤٤Faalqaw hibalahum waAAisiyyahum waqaloo biAAizzati firAAawna inna lanahnu alghaliboona
So they threw their ropes and their staffs and said, "By the might of Pharaoh, indeed it is we who are predominant
فَأَلۡقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَلۡقَفُ مَا يَأۡفِكُونَ
٤٥Faalqa moosa AAasahu faitha hiya talqafu ma yafikoona
Then Moses threw his staff, and at once it devoured what they falsified
فَأُلۡقِيَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَٰجِدِينَ
٤٦Faolqiya alssaharatu sajideena
So the magicians fell down in prostration [to Allah]
قَالُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
٤٧Qaloo amanna birabbi alAAalameena
They said, "We have believed in the Lord of the worlds
رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ
٤٨Rabbi moosa waharoona
The Lord of Moses and Aaron
قَالَ ءَامَنتُمۡ لَهُۥ قَبۡلَ أَنۡ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمۡۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ ٱلَّذِي عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱلسِّحۡرَ فَلَسَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَۚ لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيۡدِيَكُمۡ وَأَرۡجُلَكُم مِّنۡ خِلَٰفٖ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ
٤٩Qala amantum lahu qabla an athana lakum innahu lakabeerukumu allathee AAallamakumu alssihra falasawfa taAAlamoona laoqattiAAanna aydiyakum waarjulakum min khilafin walaosallibannakum ajmaAAeena
[Pharaoh] said, "You believed Moses before I gave you permission. Indeed, he is your leader who has taught you magic, but you are going to know. I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will surely crucify you all
قَالُواْ لَا ضَيۡرَۖ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ
٥٠Qaloo la dayra inna ila rabbina munqaliboona
They said, "No harm. Indeed, to our Lord we will return
إِنَّا نَطۡمَعُ أَن يَغۡفِرَ لَنَا رَبُّنَا خَطَٰيَٰنَآ أَن كُنَّآ أَوَّلَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
٥١Inna natmaAAu an yaghfira lana rabbuna khatayana an kunna awwala almumineena
Indeed, we aspire that our Lord will forgive us our sins because we were the first of the believers
۞وَأَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنۡ أَسۡرِ بِعِبَادِيٓ إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ
٥٢Waawhayna ila moosa an asri biAAibadee innakum muttabaAAoona
And We inspired to Moses, "Travel by night with My servants; indeed, you will be pursued
فَأَرۡسَلَ فِرۡعَوۡنُ فِي ٱلۡمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَ
٥٣Faarsala firAAawnu fee almadaini hashireena
Then Pharaoh sent among the cities gatherers
إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَشِرۡذِمَةٞ قَلِيلُونَ
٥٤Inna haolai lashirthimatun qaleeloona
[And said], "Indeed, those are but a small band
وَإِنَّهُمۡ لَنَا لَغَآئِظُونَ
٥٥Wainnahum lana laghaithoona
And indeed, they are enraging us
وَإِنَّا لَجَمِيعٌ حَٰذِرُونَ
٥٦Wainna lajameeAAun hathiroona
And indeed, we are a cautious society
فَأَخۡرَجۡنَٰهُم مِّن جَنَّـٰتٖ وَعُيُونٖ
٥٧Faakhrajnahum min jannatin waAAuyoonin
So We removed them from gardens and springs
وَكُنُوزٖ وَمَقَامٖ كَرِيمٖ
٥٨Wakunoozin wamaqamin kareemin
And treasures and honorable station
كَذَٰلِكَۖ وَأَوۡرَثۡنَٰهَا بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَـٰٓءِيلَ
٥٩Kathalika waawrathnaha banee israeela
Thus. And We caused to inherit it the Children of Israel
فَأَتۡبَعُوهُم مُّشۡرِقِينَ
٦٠FaatbaAAoohum mushriqeena
So they pursued them at sunrise
فَلَمَّا تَرَـٰٓءَا ٱلۡجَمۡعَانِ قَالَ أَصۡحَٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّا لَمُدۡرَكُونَ
٦١Falamma taraa aljamAAani qala ashabu moosa inna lamudrakoona
And when the two companies saw one another, the companions of Moses said, "Indeed, we are to be overtaken
قَالَ كَلَّآۖ إِنَّ مَعِيَ رَبِّي سَيَهۡدِينِ
٦٢Qala kalla inna maAAiya rabbee sayahdeeni
[Moses] said, "No! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me
فَأَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱضۡرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلۡبَحۡرَۖ فَٱنفَلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرۡقٖ كَٱلطَّوۡدِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
٦٣Faawhayna ila moosa ani idrib biAAasaka albahra fainfalaqa fakana kullu firqin kaalttawdi alAAatheemi
Then We inspired to Moses, "Strike with your staff the sea," and it parted, and each portion was like a great towering mountain
وَأَزۡلَفۡنَا ثَمَّ ٱلۡأٓخَرِينَ
٦٤Waazlafna thamma alakhareena
And We advanced thereto the pursuers
وَأَنجَيۡنَا مُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥٓ أَجۡمَعِينَ
٦٥Waanjayna moosa waman maAAahu ajmaAAeena
And We saved Moses and those with him, all together
ثُمَّ أَغۡرَقۡنَا ٱلۡأٓخَرِينَ
٦٦Thumma aghraqna alakhareena
Then We drowned the others
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
٦٧Inna fee thalika laayatan wama kana aktharuhum mumineena
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
٦٨Wainna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
وَٱتۡلُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ نَبَأَ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ
٦٩Waotlu AAalayhim nabaa ibraheema
And recite to them the news of Abraham
إِذۡ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوۡمِهِۦ مَا تَعۡبُدُونَ
٧٠Ith qala liabeehi waqawmihi ma taAAbudoona
When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship
قَالُواْ نَعۡبُدُ أَصۡنَامٗا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَٰكِفِينَ
٧١Qaloo naAAbudu asnaman fanathallu laha AAakifeena
They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted
قَالَ هَلۡ يَسۡمَعُونَكُمۡ إِذۡ تَدۡعُونَ
٧٢Qala hal yasmaAAoonakum ith tadAAoona
He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate
أَوۡ يَنفَعُونَكُمۡ أَوۡ يَضُرُّونَ
٧٣Aw yanfaAAoonakum aw yadurroona
Or do they benefit you, or do they harm
قَالُواْ بَلۡ وَجَدۡنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا كَذَٰلِكَ يَفۡعَلُونَ
٧٤Qaloo bal wajadna abaana kathalika yafAAaloona
They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus
قَالَ أَفَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡبُدُونَ
٧٥Qala afaraaytum ma kuntum taAAbudoona
He said, "Then do you see what you have been worshipping
أَنتُمۡ وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ ٱلۡأَقۡدَمُونَ
٧٦Antum waabaokumu alaqdamoona
You and your ancient forefathers
فَإِنَّهُمۡ عَدُوّٞ لِّيٓ إِلَّا رَبَّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
٧٧Fainnahum AAaduwwun lee illa rabba alAAalameena
Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds
ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَنِي فَهُوَ يَهۡدِينِ
٧٨Allathee khalaqanee fahuwa yahdeeni
Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me
وَٱلَّذِي هُوَ يُطۡعِمُنِي وَيَسۡقِينِ
٧٩Waallathee huwa yutAAimunee wayasqeeni
And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink
وَإِذَا مَرِضۡتُ فَهُوَ يَشۡفِينِ
٨٠Waitha maridtu fahuwa yashfeeni
And when I am ill, it is He who cures me
وَٱلَّذِي يُمِيتُنِي ثُمَّ يُحۡيِينِ
٨١Waallathee yumeetunee thumma yuhyeeni
And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life
وَٱلَّذِيٓ أَطۡمَعُ أَن يَغۡفِرَ لِي خَطِيٓـَٔتِي يَوۡمَ ٱلدِّينِ
٨٢Waallathee atmaAAu an yaghfira lee khateeatee yawma alddeeni
And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense
رَبِّ هَبۡ لِي حُكۡمٗا وَأَلۡحِقۡنِي بِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
٨٣Rabbi hab lee hukman waalhiqnee bialssaliheena
[And he said], "My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous
وَٱجۡعَل لِّي لِسَانَ صِدۡقٖ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ
٨٤WaijAAal lee lisana sidqin fee alakhireena
And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations
وَٱجۡعَلۡنِي مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
٨٥WaijAAalnee min warathati jannati alnnaAAeemi
And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure
وَٱغۡفِرۡ لِأَبِيٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
٨٦Waighfir liabee innahu kana mina alddalleena
And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray
وَلَا تُخۡزِنِي يَوۡمَ يُبۡعَثُونَ
٨٧Wala tukhzinee yawma yubAAathoona
And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected
يَوۡمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٞ وَلَا بَنُونَ
٨٨Yawma la yanfaAAu malun wala banoona
The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children
إِلَّا مَنۡ أَتَى ٱللَّهَ بِقَلۡبٖ سَلِيمٖ
٨٩Illa man ata Allaha biqalbin saleemin
But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart
وَأُزۡلِفَتِ ٱلۡجَنَّةُ لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ
٩٠Waozlifati aljannatu lilmuttaqeena
And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous
وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلۡجَحِيمُ لِلۡغَاوِينَ
٩١Waburrizati aljaheemu lilghaweena
And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators
وَقِيلَ لَهُمۡ أَيۡنَ مَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡبُدُونَ
٩٢Waqeela lahum ayna ma kuntum taAAbudoona
And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worship
مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ هَلۡ يَنصُرُونَكُمۡ أَوۡ يَنتَصِرُونَ
٩٣Min dooni Allahi hal yansuroonakum aw yantasiroona
Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves
فَكُبۡكِبُواْ فِيهَا هُمۡ وَٱلۡغَاوُۥنَ
٩٤Fakubkiboo feeha hum waalghawoona
So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators
وَجُنُودُ إِبۡلِيسَ أَجۡمَعُونَ
٩٥Wajunoodu ibleesa ajmaAAoona
And the soldiers of Iblees, all together
قَالُواْ وَهُمۡ فِيهَا يَخۡتَصِمُونَ
٩٦Qaloo wahum feeha yakhtasimoona
They will say while they dispute therein
تَٱللَّهِ إِن كُنَّا لَفِي ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٍ
٩٧TaAllahi in kunna lafee dalalin mubeenin
By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error
إِذۡ نُسَوِّيكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
٩٨Ith nusawweekum birabbi alAAalameena
When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds
وَمَآ أَضَلَّنَآ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ
٩٩Wama adallana illa almujrimoona
And no one misguided us except the criminals
فَمَا لَنَا مِن شَٰفِعِينَ
١٠٠Fama lana min shafiAAeena
So now we have no intercessors
وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٖ
١٠١Wala sadeeqin hameemin
And not a devoted friend
فَلَوۡ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةٗ فَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
١٠٢Falaw anna lana karratan fanakoona mina almumineena
Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
١٠٣Inna fee thalika laayatan wama kana aktharuhum mumineena
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
١٠٤Wainna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
كَذَّبَتۡ قَوۡمُ نُوحٍ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
١٠٥Kaththabat qawmu noohin almursaleena
The people of Noah denied the messengers
إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُمۡ أَخُوهُمۡ نُوحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
١٠٦Ith qala lahum akhoohum noohun ala tattaqoona
When their brother Noah said to them, "Will you not fear Allah
إِنِّي لَكُمۡ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٞ
١٠٧Innee lakum rasoolun ameenun
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger
فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
١٠٨Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni
So fear Allah and obey me
وَمَآ أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۡ أَجۡرٍۖ إِنۡ أَجۡرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
١٠٩Wama asalukum AAalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illa AAala rabbi alAAalameena
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds
فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
١١٠Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni
So fear Allah and obey me
۞قَالُوٓاْ أَنُؤۡمِنُ لَكَ وَٱتَّبَعَكَ ٱلۡأَرۡذَلُونَ
١١١Qaloo anuminu laka waittabaAAaka alarthaloona
They said, "Should we believe you while you are followed by the lowest [class of people]
قَالَ وَمَا عِلۡمِي بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ
١١٢Qala wama AAilmee bima kanoo yaAAmaloona
He said, "And what is my knowledge of what they used to do
إِنۡ حِسَابُهُمۡ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّيۖ لَوۡ تَشۡعُرُونَ
١١٣In hisabuhum illa AAala rabbee law tashAAuroona
Their account is only upon my Lord, if you [could] perceive
وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِطَارِدِ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
١١٤Wama ana bitaridi almumineena
And I am not one to drive away the believers
إِنۡ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٞ مُّبِينٞ
١١٥In ana illa natheerun mubeenun
I am only a clear warner
قَالُواْ لَئِن لَّمۡ تَنتَهِ يَٰنُوحُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلۡمَرۡجُومِينَ
١١٦Qaloo lain lam tantahi ya noohu latakoonanna mina almarjoomeena
They said, "If you do not desist, O Noah, you will surely be of those who are stoned
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوۡمِي كَذَّبُونِ
١١٧Qala rabbi inna qawmee kaththabooni
He said, "My Lord, indeed my people have denied me
فَٱفۡتَحۡ بَيۡنِي وَبَيۡنَهُمۡ فَتۡحٗا وَنَجِّنِي وَمَن مَّعِيَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
١١٨Faiftah baynee wabaynahum fathan wanajjinee waman maAAiya mina almumineena
Then judge between me and them with decisive judgement and save me and those with me of the believers
فَأَنجَيۡنَٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥ فِي ٱلۡفُلۡكِ ٱلۡمَشۡحُونِ
١١٩Faanjaynahu waman maAAahu fee alfulki almashhooni
So We saved him and those with him in the laden ship
ثُمَّ أَغۡرَقۡنَا بَعۡدُ ٱلۡبَاقِينَ
١٢٠Thumma aghraqna baAAdu albaqeena
Then We drowned thereafter the remaining ones
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
١٢١Inna fee thalika laayatan wama kana aktharuhum mumineena
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
١٢٢Wainna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
كَذَّبَتۡ عَادٌ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
١٢٣Kaththabat AAadun almursaleena
Aad denied the messengers
إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُمۡ أَخُوهُمۡ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
١٢٤Ith qala lahum akhoohum hoodun ala tattaqoona
When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah
إِنِّي لَكُمۡ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٞ
١٢٥Innee lakum rasoolun ameenun
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger
فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
١٢٦Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni
So fear Allah and obey me
وَمَآ أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۡ أَجۡرٍۖ إِنۡ أَجۡرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
١٢٧Wama asalukum AAalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illa AAala rabbi alAAalameena
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds
أَتَبۡنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ ءَايَةٗ تَعۡبَثُونَ
١٢٨Atabnoona bikulli reeAAin ayatan taAAbathoona
Do you construct on every elevation a sign, amusing yourselves
وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَخۡلُدُونَ
١٢٩Watattakhithoona masaniAAa laAAallakum takhludoona
And take for yourselves palaces and fortresses that you might abide eternally
وَإِذَا بَطَشۡتُم بَطَشۡتُمۡ جَبَّارِينَ
١٣٠Waitha batashtum batashtum jabbareena
And when you strike, you strike as tyrants
فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
١٣١Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni
So fear Allah and obey me
وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَمَدَّكُم بِمَا تَعۡلَمُونَ
١٣٢Waittaqoo allathee amaddakum bima taAAlamoona
And fear He who provided you with that which you know
أَمَدَّكُم بِأَنۡعَٰمٖ وَبَنِينَ
١٣٣Amaddakum bianAAamin wabaneena
Provided you with grazing livestock and children
وَجَنَّـٰتٖ وَعُيُونٍ
١٣٤Wajannatin waAAuyoonin
And gardens and springs
إِنِّيٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ عَذَابَ يَوۡمٍ عَظِيمٖ
١٣٥Innee akhafu AAalaykum AAathaba yawmin AAatheemin
Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day
قَالُواْ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيۡنَآ أَوَعَظۡتَ أَمۡ لَمۡ تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلۡوَٰعِظِينَ
١٣٦Qaloo sawaon AAalayna awaAAathta am lam takun mina alwaAAitheena
They said, "It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors
إِنۡ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا خُلُقُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
١٣٧In hatha illa khuluqu alawwaleena
This is not but the custom of the former peoples
وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
١٣٨Wama nahnu bimuAAaththabeena
And we are not to be punished
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهۡلَكۡنَٰهُمۡۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
١٣٩Fakaththaboohu faahlaknahum inna fee thalika laayatan wama kana aktharuhum mumineena
And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
١٤٠Wainna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
كَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُودُ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
١٤١Kaththabat thamoodu almursaleena
Thamud denied the messengers
إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُمۡ أَخُوهُمۡ صَٰلِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
١٤٢Ith qala lahum akhoohum salihun ala tattaqoona
When their brother Salih said to them, "Will you not fear Allah
إِنِّي لَكُمۡ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٞ
١٤٣Innee lakum rasoolun ameenun
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger
فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
١٤٤Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni
So fear Allah and obey me
وَمَآ أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۡ أَجۡرٍۖ إِنۡ أَجۡرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
١٤٥Wama asalukum AAalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illa AAala rabbi alAAalameena
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds
أَتُتۡرَكُونَ فِي مَا هَٰهُنَآ ءَامِنِينَ
١٤٦Atutrakoona fee ma hahuna amineena
Will you be left in what is here, secure [from death]
فِي جَنَّـٰتٖ وَعُيُونٖ
١٤٧Fee jannatin waAAuyoonin
Within gardens and springs
وَزُرُوعٖ وَنَخۡلٖ طَلۡعُهَا هَضِيمٞ
١٤٨WazurooAAin wanakhlin talAAuha hadeemun
And fields of crops and palm trees with softened fruit
وَتَنۡحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡجِبَالِ بُيُوتٗا فَٰرِهِينَ
١٤٩Watanhitoona mina aljibali buyootan fariheena
And you carve out of the mountains, homes, with skill
فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
١٥٠Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni
So fear Allah and obey me
وَلَا تُطِيعُوٓاْ أَمۡرَ ٱلۡمُسۡرِفِينَ
١٥١Wala tuteeAAoo amra almusrifeena
And do not obey the order of the transgressors
ٱلَّذِينَ يُفۡسِدُونَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَا يُصۡلِحُونَ
١٥٢Allatheena yufsidoona fee alardi wala yuslihoona
Who cause corruption in the land and do not amend
قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُسَحَّرِينَ
١٥٣Qaloo innama anta mina almusahhareena
They said, "You are only of those affected by magic
مَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٞ مِّثۡلُنَا فَأۡتِ بِـَٔايَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
١٥٤Ma anta illa basharun mithluna fati biayatin in kunta mina alssadiqeena
You are but a man like ourselves, so bring a sign, if you should be of the truthful
قَالَ هَٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةٞ لَّهَا شِرۡبٞ وَلَكُمۡ شِرۡبُ يَوۡمٖ مَّعۡلُومٖ
١٥٥Qala hathihi naqatun laha shirbun walakum shirbu yawmin maAAloomin
He said, "This is a she-camel. For her is a [time of] drink, and for you is a [time of] drink, [each] on a known day
وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٖ فَيَأۡخُذَكُمۡ عَذَابُ يَوۡمٍ عَظِيمٖ
١٥٦Wala tamassooha bisooin fayakhuthakum AAathabu yawmin AAatheemin
And do not touch her with harm, lest you be seized by the punishment of a terrible day
فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصۡبَحُواْ نَٰدِمِينَ
١٥٧FaAAaqarooha faasbahoo nadimeena
But they hamstrung her and so became regretful
فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
١٥٨Faakhathahumu alAAathabu inna fee thalika laayatan wama kana aktharuhum mumineena
And the punishment seized them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
١٥٩Wainna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
كَذَّبَتۡ قَوۡمُ لُوطٍ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
١٦٠Kaththabat qawmu lootin almursaleena
The people of Lot denied the messengers
إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُمۡ أَخُوهُمۡ لُوطٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
١٦١Ith qala lahum akhoohum lootun ala tattaqoona
When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah
إِنِّي لَكُمۡ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٞ
١٦٢Innee lakum rasoolun ameenun
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger
فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
١٦٣Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni
So fear Allah and obey me
وَمَآ أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۡ أَجۡرٍۖ إِنۡ أَجۡرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
١٦٤Wama asalukum AAalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illa AAala rabbi alAAalameena
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds
أَتَأۡتُونَ ٱلذُّكۡرَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
١٦٥Atatoona alththukrana mina alAAalameena
Do you approach males among the worlds
وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمۡ رَبُّكُم مِّنۡ أَزۡوَٰجِكُمۚ بَلۡ أَنتُمۡ قَوۡمٌ عَادُونَ
١٦٦Watatharoona ma khalaqa lakum rabbukum min azwajikum bal antum qawmun AAadoona
And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing
قَالُواْ لَئِن لَّمۡ تَنتَهِ يَٰلُوطُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلۡمُخۡرَجِينَ
١٦٧Qaloo lain lam tantahi ya lootu latakoonanna mina almukhrajeena
They said, "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted
قَالَ إِنِّي لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقَالِينَ
١٦٨Qala innee liAAamalikum mina alqaleena
He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]
رَبِّ نَجِّنِي وَأَهۡلِي مِمَّا يَعۡمَلُونَ
١٦٩Rabbi najjinee waahlee mimma yaAAmaloona
My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do
فَنَجَّيۡنَٰهُ وَأَهۡلَهُۥٓ أَجۡمَعِينَ
١٧٠Fanajjaynahu waahlahu ajmaAAeena
So We saved him and his family, all
إِلَّا عَجُوزٗا فِي ٱلۡغَٰبِرِينَ
١٧١Illa AAajoozan fee alghabireena
Except an old woman among those who remained behind
ثُمَّ دَمَّرۡنَا ٱلۡأٓخَرِينَ
١٧٢Thumma dammarna alakhareena
Then We destroyed the others
وَأَمۡطَرۡنَا عَلَيۡهِم مَّطَرٗاۖ فَسَآءَ مَطَرُ ٱلۡمُنذَرِينَ
١٧٣Waamtarna AAalayhim mataran fasaa mataru almunthareena
And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
١٧٤Inna fee thalika laayatan wama kana aktharuhum mumineena
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
١٧٥Wainna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
كَذَّبَ أَصۡحَٰبُ لۡـَٔيۡكَةِ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
١٧٦Kaththaba ashabu alaykati almursaleena
The companions of the thicket denied the messengers
إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُمۡ شُعَيۡبٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
١٧٧Ith qala lahum shuAAaybun ala tattaqoona
When Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear Allah
إِنِّي لَكُمۡ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٞ
١٧٨Innee lakum rasoolun ameenun
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger
فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
١٧٩Faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni
So fear Allah and obey me
وَمَآ أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۡ أَجۡرٍۖ إِنۡ أَجۡرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
١٨٠Wama asalukum AAalayhi min ajrin in ajriya illa AAala rabbi alAAalameena
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds
۞أَوۡفُواْ ٱلۡكَيۡلَ وَلَا تَكُونُواْ مِنَ ٱلۡمُخۡسِرِينَ
١٨١Awfoo alkayla wala takoonoo mina almukhsireena
Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss
وَزِنُواْ بِٱلۡقِسۡطَاسِ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمِ
١٨٢Wazinoo bialqistasi almustaqeemi
And weigh with an even balance
وَلَا تَبۡخَسُواْ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشۡيَآءَهُمۡ وَلَا تَعۡثَوۡاْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مُفۡسِدِينَ
١٨٣Wala tabkhasoo alnnasa ashyaahum wala taAAthaw fee alardi mufsideena
And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption
وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَكُمۡ وَٱلۡجِبِلَّةَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
١٨٤Waittaqoo allathee khalaqakum waaljibillata alawwaleena
And fear He who created you and the former creation
قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُسَحَّرِينَ
١٨٥Qaloo innama anta mina almusahhareena
They said, "You are only of those affected by magic
وَمَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٞ مِّثۡلُنَا وَإِن نَّظُنُّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلۡكَٰذِبِينَ
١٨٦Wama anta illa basharun mithluna wain nathunnuka lamina alkathibeena
You are but a man like ourselves, and indeed, we think you are among the liars
فَأَسۡقِطۡ عَلَيۡنَا كِسَفٗا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
١٨٧Faasqit AAalayna kisafan mina alssamai in kunta mina alssadiqeena
So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful
قَالَ رَبِّيٓ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ
١٨٨Qala rabbee aAAlamu bima taAAmaloona
He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمۡ عَذَابُ يَوۡمِ ٱلظُّلَّةِۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوۡمٍ عَظِيمٍ
١٨٩Fakaththaboohu faakhathahum AAathabu yawmi alththullati innahu kana AAathaba yawmin AAatheemin
And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ
١٩٠Inna fee thalika laayatan wama kana aktharuhum mumineena
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
١٩١Wainna rabbaka lahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu
And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَنزِيلُ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
١٩٢Wainnahu latanzeelu rabbi alAAalameena
And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds
نَزَلَ بِهِ ٱلرُّوحُ ٱلۡأَمِينُ
١٩٣Nazala bihi alrroohu alameenu
The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down
عَلَىٰ قَلۡبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُنذِرِينَ
١٩٤AAala qalbika litakoona mina almunthireena
Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] - that you may be of the warners
بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِيّٖ مُّبِينٖ
١٩٥Bilisanin AAarabiyyin mubeenin
In a clear Arabic language
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَفِي زُبُرِ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ
١٩٦Wainnahu lafee zuburi alawwaleena
And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples
أَوَلَمۡ يَكُن لَّهُمۡ ءَايَةً أَن يَعۡلَمَهُۥ عُلَمَـٰٓؤُاْ بَنِيٓ إِسۡرَـٰٓءِيلَ
١٩٧Awalam yakun lahum ayatan an yaAAlamahu AAulamao banee israeela
And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel
وَلَوۡ نَزَّلۡنَٰهُ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضِ ٱلۡأَعۡجَمِينَ
١٩٨Walaw nazzalnahu AAala baAAdi alaAAjameena
And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners
فَقَرَأَهُۥ عَلَيۡهِم مَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ مُؤۡمِنِينَ
١٩٩Faqaraahu AAalayhim ma kanoo bihi mumineena
And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it
كَذَٰلِكَ سَلَكۡنَٰهُ فِي قُلُوبِ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ
٢٠٠Kathalika salaknahu fee quloobi almujrimeena
Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals
لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُاْ ٱلۡعَذَابَ ٱلۡأَلِيمَ
٢٠١La yuminoona bihi hatta yarawoo alAAathaba alaleema
They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment
فَيَأۡتِيَهُم بَغۡتَةٗ وَهُمۡ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ
٢٠٢Fayatiyahum baghtatan wahum la yashAAuroona
And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not
فَيَقُولُواْ هَلۡ نَحۡنُ مُنظَرُونَ
٢٠٣Fayaqooloo hal nahnu muntharoona
And they will say, "May we be reprieved
أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسۡتَعۡجِلُونَ
٢٠٤AfabiAAathabina yastaAAjiloona
So for Our punishment are they impatient
أَفَرَءَيۡتَ إِن مَّتَّعۡنَٰهُمۡ سِنِينَ
٢٠٥Afaraayta in mattaAAnahum sineena
Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years
ثُمَّ جَآءَهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يُوعَدُونَ
٢٠٦Thumma jaahum ma kanoo yooAAadoona
And then there came to them that which they were promised
مَآ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنۡهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يُمَتَّعُونَ
٢٠٧Ma aghna AAanhum ma kanoo yumattaAAoona
They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided
وَمَآ أَهۡلَكۡنَا مِن قَرۡيَةٍ إِلَّا لَهَا مُنذِرُونَ
٢٠٨Wama ahlakna min qaryatin illa laha munthiroona
And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners
ذِكۡرَىٰ وَمَا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ
٢٠٩Thikra wama kunna thalimeena
As a reminder; and never have We been unjust
وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتۡ بِهِ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ
٢١٠Wama tanazzalat bihi alshshayateenu
And the devils have not brought the revelation down
وَمَا يَنۢبَغِي لَهُمۡ وَمَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ
٢١١Wama yanbaghee lahum wama yastateeAAoona
It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able
إِنَّهُمۡ عَنِ ٱلسَّمۡعِ لَمَعۡزُولُونَ
٢١٢Innahum AAani alssamAAi lamaAAzooloona
Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed
فَلَا تَدۡعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُعَذَّبِينَ
٢١٣Fala tadAAu maAAa Allahi ilahan akhara fatakoona mina almuAAaththabeena
So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished
وَأَنذِرۡ عَشِيرَتَكَ ٱلۡأَقۡرَبِينَ
٢١٤Waanthir AAasheerataka alaqrabeena
And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred
وَٱخۡفِضۡ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
٢١٥Waikhfid janahaka limani ittabaAAaka mina almumineena
And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers
فَإِنۡ عَصَوۡكَ فَقُلۡ إِنِّي بَرِيٓءٞ مِّمَّا تَعۡمَلُونَ
٢١٦Fain AAasawka faqul innee bareeon mimma taAAmaloona
And if they disobey you, then say, "Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing
وَتَوَكَّلۡ عَلَى ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
٢١٧Watawakkal AAala alAAazeezi alrraheemi
And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful
ٱلَّذِي يَرَىٰكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ
٢١٨Allathee yaraka heena taqoomu
Who sees you when you arise
وَتَقَلُّبَكَ فِي ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ
٢١٩Wataqallubaka fee alssajideena
And your movement among those who prostrate
إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ
٢٢٠Innahu huwa alssameeAAu alAAaleemu
Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing
هَلۡ أُنَبِّئُكُمۡ عَلَىٰ مَن تَنَزَّلُ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينُ
٢٢١Hal onabbiokum AAala man tanazzalu alshshayateenu
Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend
تَنَزَّلُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٖ
٢٢٢Tanazzalu AAala kulli affakin atheemin
They descend upon every sinful liar
يُلۡقُونَ ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَأَكۡثَرُهُمۡ كَٰذِبُونَ
٢٢٣Yulqoona alssamAAa waaktharuhum kathiboona
They pass on what is heard, and most of them are liars
وَٱلشُّعَرَآءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُ ٱلۡغَاوُۥنَ
٢٢٤WaalshshuAAarao yattabiAAuhumu alghawoona
And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them
أَلَمۡ تَرَ أَنَّهُمۡ فِي كُلِّ وَادٖ يَهِيمُونَ
٢٢٥Alam tara annahum fee kulli wadin yaheemoona
Do you not see that in every valley they roam
وَأَنَّهُمۡ يَقُولُونَ مَا لَا يَفۡعَلُونَ
٢٢٦Waannahum yaqooloona ma la yafAAaloona
And that they say what they do not do
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ وَذَكَرُواْ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرٗا وَٱنتَصَرُواْ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا ظُلِمُواْۗ وَسَيَعۡلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓاْ أَيَّ مُنقَلَبٖ يَنقَلِبُونَ
٢٢٧Illa allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati wathakaroo Allaha katheeran waintasaroo min baAAdi ma thulimoo wasayaAAlamu allatheena thalamoo ayya munqalabin yanqaliboona
Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned
