ٱللَّيْل

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. وَٱلَّيۡلِ إِذَا يَغۡشَىٰ

   ١

   Waallayli itha yaghsha

   By the night when it covers

2. وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ

   ٢

   Waalnnahari itha tajalla

   And [by] the day when it appears

3. وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلۡأُنثَىٰٓ

   ٣

   Wama khalaqa alththakara waalontha

   And [by] He who created the male and female

4. إِنَّ سَعۡيَكُمۡ لَشَتَّىٰ

   ٤

   Inna saAAyakum lashatta

   Indeed, your efforts are diverse

5. فَأَمَّا مَنۡ أَعۡطَىٰ وَٱتَّقَىٰ

   ٥

   Faamma man aAAta waittaqa

   As for he who gives and fears Allah

6. وَصَدَّقَ بِٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰ

   ٦

   Wasaddaqa bialhusna

   And believes in the best [reward]

7. فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلۡيُسۡرَىٰ

   ٧

   Fasanuyassiruhu lilyusra

   We will ease him toward ease

8. وَأَمَّا مَنۢ بَخِلَ وَٱسۡتَغۡنَىٰ

   ٨

   Waamma man bakhila waistaghna

   But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need

9. وَكَذَّبَ بِٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰ

   ٩

   Wakaththaba bialhusna

   And denies the best [reward]

10. فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلۡعُسۡرَىٰ

    ١٠

    Fasanuyassiruhu lilAAusra

    We will ease him toward difficulty

11. وَمَا يُغۡنِي عَنۡهُ مَالُهُۥٓ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰٓ

    ١١

    Wama yughnee AAanhu maluhu itha taradda

    And what will his wealth avail him when he falls

12. إِنَّ عَلَيۡنَا لَلۡهُدَىٰ

    ١٢

    Inna AAalayna lalhuda

    Indeed, [incumbent] upon Us is guidance

13. وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلۡأٓخِرَةَ وَٱلۡأُولَىٰ

    ١٣

    Wainna lana lalakhirata waaloola

    And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]

14. فَأَنذَرۡتُكُمۡ نَارٗا تَلَظَّىٰ

    ١٤

    Faanthartukum naran talaththa

    So I have warned you of a Fire which is blazing

15. لَا يَصۡلَىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلۡأَشۡقَى

    ١٥

    La yaslaha illa alashqa

    None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one

16. ٱلَّذِي كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ

    ١٦

    Allathee kaththaba watawalla

    Who had denied and turned away

17. وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا ٱلۡأَتۡقَى

    ١٧

    Wasayujannabuha alatqa

    But the righteous one will avoid it

18. ٱلَّذِي يُؤۡتِي مَالَهُۥ يَتَزَكَّىٰ

    ١٨

    Allathee yutee malahu yatazakka

    [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself

19. وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُۥ مِن نِّعۡمَةٖ تُجۡزَىٰٓ

    ١٩

    Wama liahadin AAindahu min niAAmatin tujza

    And not [giving] for anyone who has [done him] a favor to be rewarded

20. إِلَّا ٱبۡتِغَآءَ وَجۡهِ رَبِّهِ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰ

    ٢٠

    Illa ibtighaa wajhi rabbihi alaAAla

    But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High

21. وَلَسَوۡفَ يَرۡضَىٰ

    ٢١

    Walasawfa yarda

    And he is going to be satisfied
