Surah Al-Fatihah (Arabic: الفاتحة, "The Opener") is the 1st surah of the Quran. It is a Meccan surah of 7 verses, in juz 1, on page 1 of the 604-page Madina mushaf.

  1. بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

    Bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi

  2. ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

    2

    Alhamdu lillahi rabbi alAAalameena

  3. ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

    Alrrahmani alrraheemi

  4. مَٰلِكِ يَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ

    Maliki yawmi alddeeni

  5. إِيَّاكَ نَعۡبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسۡتَعِينُ

    Iyyaka naAAbudu waiyyaka nastaAAeenu

  6. ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

    Ihdina alssirata almustaqeema

  7. صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ غَيۡرِ ٱلۡمَغۡضُوبِ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

    Sirata allatheena anAAamta AAalayhim ghayri almaghdoobi AAalayhim wala alddalleena

Recite it — every word is checked

Recite Surah Al-Fatihah out loud, in the Hafs or the Qaloon riwaya, and Minhajy marks each word as you go: letter and tashkeel mistakes, skipped words, extra words. You can hide the text and recite from memory. It is a practice aid that can be wrong, not a teacher.
